financial coaching sessions for artists

with Jaden Kyung-Moon Bauch

About Me

Hi! I’m Jaden Kyung-Moon Bauch, a senior in the Painting department at Maine College of Art & Design and a financial professional. I started my journey as an artist with big dreams but quickly realized I needed to understand how to manage money to sustain my creative practice. Uncertainty about my financial future led me to a career in finance.

I have passed the Securities Industry Essentials Exam and the Series 65, and I served as a student instructor for a personal finance course here on campus. I have also had the opportunity to lecture various grade levels on how to take control of their financial futures.

Now, I’m combining my passions to help artists take control of their financial futures.

As part of my senior thesis, I’m offering free 1-hour financial coaching sessions to about 25 artists in Spring 2025. During these sessions, we’ll discuss your financial goals, create a roadmap, and work to improve your overall financial picture.

What I Ask in Return:
Send me one photo of food you’ve taken—a home cooked meal, restaurant dinner, or snack, whatever speaks to you. I’ll create paintings inspired by these photos as part of my thesis project.

About MY SENIOR THESIS PROJECT

How I can help

  • The only thing people ever talk about when they talk about artists and money is about how they don’t have any and can’t make any. I’m here to tell you that YOU can achieve financial abundance as a creative and the first step is self-reflection.

  • Everyone says they want to get better at budgeting or managing their money, but many don’t. Learn how to build a budget that actually sticks.

  • Navigating a financial journey will feel hard at times and you might even consider giving up. Your financial goals and vision for your future are what will actually keep you accountable.

  • College, cars, homes, it seems like many of today’s necessities are built around debt and not knowing how to manage it can be detrimental to your financial health. Learn how to build a strong credit score and be smart with debt.

My approach

  • Creative-Centered

I am dedicated to understanding the unique financial barriers that artists and creatives encounter, aiming to provide tailored support.

  • Education

My educational approach prioritizes jargon-free guidance and resources which allow YOU to take control of your financial future.

  • 0 judgement

Money is an uncomfortable topic for many and asking for help can feel daunting. I will provide a confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to learn about improving your financial health.

when a painting sells

You’ll receive 25% of my takeaway from any sale, no matter when it happens. For example:

  • If a painting sells for $800 and the gallery takes 50%, my takeaway is $400. You’d receive $100 (25%).
